Marketing is not a science, its a creative communications process.  You need to use all communciations methods at your disposal to influence the behaviour of your customer; basically you want to entice them to buy whatever it is you are selling.  First of all you need to work out who your most likely customer is - where do they live, what age are they, what do they like to do.  If you are going to make the effort to communicate, make sure it is to the people who are most likley to be interested!  The next thing you need to do is respond quickly to enquiries.  If you respond by return, people are really impressed; you have their attention and you are much more likely to convert an enquiry into a sale.  Next you will be supplying them with some information; the quality of your promotions has to be as good as the quality of your services.  Your promotions are the "front door" of your business. To be successful they require "creative flair" They have to be the best quality of paper, images, design and copywriting that you can afford.  if you are naturally talented at design, photography and writing, do your own; but if you're not, dont DIY, pay someone who will do a good job.  I am art school educated by I still hire a professional to do my design.

Finally, look after your customer.  Ensure you are honest about your products and services, never raise customer expectations to the extent they are disappointed. Questionnaire your customers to find out what they think.  Your might be surprised! Do a good job and a happy customer will return and recommend you to their friends and family; eventually you may need to do no other marketing!  So remember the fundamental "building blocks" for marketing are
